This scene is carved in the tradition of the Saint Jean - Port Jolie region of Quebec, renowned for it's figure carving. It is, however, an exceptionally large (1.5 x 2 meters) and finely wrought work. Carving in high relief is also unusual for carvers of this region. The subject is a well known Canadian scene taken from a painting of voyageurs of the Hudson's Bay Company of Adventurers descending a fast river with a freight of beaver pelts for delivery to the Factory en route to Europe.

The elderly couple portrayed in this small terra cotta sculpture show a sweetness in their interplay that is genuinely heart warming. The lady looks back on her husband as he brushes her hair.

This maple leaf had just fallen on a stream of water during a rain shower in autumn. The photo captures the freshness of the water droplets on the leaf surface and the bright colour of an autumn leaf suspended over a smoky background of moving water.

These mukluks are classic in design and execution. The soles are humna-chewed seal skin which provides waterproofing to the seams. The chevron design on the boot face is traditional. The inner boot is made from heavy wool blanket reminiscent of the treaty blankets which were originally used in their construction.

This piece consists of 2 stained glass windows superimposed on one another in a wooden frame. The combination of the rippled glass components and their spatial separation creates a strong illusion of being an underwater witness to the unfolding drama.

We really love this painting! The sensation of looking at the orderly forest trees framed by mountainous forms in the background through the apparent bars in the immediate foreground delivers a sharply contrasting sense of fantasy and imprisonment.
