In an one sided match of 2010 World Twenty20, 2007 winner India easily beat first time playing Afghanistan by 7 wickets with 31 balls remaining on Saturday, 1st May, 2010 at Gros Islet. Afg made 115/8 in 20 overs and Ind made 116/3 in 14.5 overs.

Afghanistan got a bad start and reduced to 29/3 but 68 runs partnership between Noor Ali who hit maiden 50 runs and Asghar 30 helped them to past 100 runs as Ashish Nehra bowled brilliantly and too 3 wickets for 19 runs. India then lost Gambhir and Raina early but Murali Vijay continues his form of IPL3 hit 48 runs well supported by Yuvraj with unbeaten 23 runs to ensure an easy 7 wickets win.
